Albert S. Mellick
Dr Mellick completed his undergraduate and graduate training at the University of Queensland, Australian National University and Griffith University. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Mittal Lab, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, New York, in the Mittal Laboratory, where he established techniques to study the role of bone marrow derived cells in tumor biology. On his return to Australia he established the Host response to Cancer Laboratory at Griffith University, and was a founding PI at the new Griffith Health Institute. He is a PI and Senior Research Fellow in the School of Medical Science. He has been elected Treasurer for the Australian Society for Stem Cell REsearch for the last 3years and teaches in the school of Medical Science, and Medicine and holds Australian Research Council and National Health and Medical Research Council Funding to study the role of the bone marrow in cancer.
