Rodney A Stewart 14th International Biennial Conference on Metastasis Research 2012

My laboratory studies the genetic and molecular mechanisms that regulate cell migration during development and disease. Specifically, our research is focused on discovering genetic pathways that regulate neural crest migration in zebrafish embryos and translating these findings to neural crest-derived cancers, such as melanoma and neuroblastoma, to directly test whether these mechanisms also drive de novo metastasis in transparent zebrafish. We are currently analyzing the role of novel adhesion molecules in neural crest migration and developing novel assays to measure metastasis in zebrafish.
