I am Dr. Gera Neufeld and I am a professor of cell biology at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. My laboratory has two main research interests. We study the biology of the semaphorins and their receptors, and their role in the control of angiogenesis and tumor progression. We were also the first to find, several years ago, that LOXL2, a lysyl-oxidase family member, is an important regulator of tumor metastasis and in my laboratory we continue to study the mechanisms by which LOXL2 regulates tumor metastasis.
